Dr I Julia Bührle

I have worked on various authors and periods in English, French and German literature. The main focus of my recent research is the relationship between literature, music and dance, and the ways in which works of literature have been adapted by librettists and choreographers since the beginnings of ballet history. I am currently researching into dance adaptations of Shakespeare's works.

I recently contributed to the BBC documentary The King who invented ballet: Louis XIV and the noble art of Dance, broadcast on BBC Channel 4 on September 13, 2015, 8pm.
