We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Boxall, BA MA S'ton, PhD Sus, to the Goldsmiths’ Professorship of English Literature in the Faculty of English Language and Literature with effect from 1 September 2023.
Professor Boxall joins us from the University of Sussex where he is currently Professor of English. He commented, “I am delighted to be joining the English faculty at Oxford. It is an honour to take up the Goldsmiths’ Professorship – a chair which has been occupied by some of the scholars I most respect and admire. I am looking forward with great excitement to working with the faculty’s talented colleagues and students, at a critical time in the history of English Literature as a discipline.”
Professor Boxall will be a fellow of New College.
