We're delighted that the University of Oxford has once again been ranked number one in the world for English Language and Literature in the QS World University Rankings 2024 by subject. The breakdown of the overall score (96.4) shows we were awarded a perfect 100 for academic reputation and 98.7 for employer reputation. Oxford has held the top spot for English Language and Literature since 2016.
Professor Marion Turner, Chair of the English Faculty Board, commented: "We are delighted that our world-leading research and the outstanding teaching and support that we provide for both undergraduate and postgraduate students have been recognised by the award of the top spot in the QS rankings. The English Faculty in Oxford is a very special place, and all of our faculty, staff, and students work extraordinarily hard to maintain our reputation for excellence."
