Congratulations to Siân Grønlie who has been awarded the title of Professor in this year's Recognition of Distinction Awards at the University of Oxford. 

Siân Grønlie is Kate Elmore Tutorial Fellow in English at St Anne’s College, Oxford (and Professor of Old Norse), where she has been teaching since 2004. Her research interests span saga literature, conversion history, saints’ lives, and biblical narrative. She is the author of Íslendingabók and Kristni saga/The Book of the Icelanders and the Story of the Conversion (Viking Society for Northern Research, 2006); The Saint and the Saga Hero: Hagiography and Early Icelandic Literature (Boydell & Brewer, 2017) and The Old Testament in Medieval Icelandic Texts: Translation, Exegesis, and Storytelling (Boydell & Brewer, 2024). She is currently working on Old Norse sagas of St John the Evangelist and on the character of Samson in the Old Norse translation of the Book of Judges.
