Open Days

Tutorial

If you have the opportunity, it’s a great idea to visit Oxford before making an application, in order to get a sense of the place and to look round possible colleges.

The English Faculty is holding a state-schools Open Day on Saturday 24th February. If you would like details of this please contact the Undergraduate Studies Office at undergrad@ell.ox.ac.uk. Booking for this event is essential.

The University also runs three other open day events during the year  The next University-wide Open Days for undergraduates will be held on Wednesday 27 June, Thursday 28 June and Friday 14 September and the English Faculty takes part in all three. Students, parents and teachers are invited to spend a whole day in Oxford, attending events, talking to staff and students and getting answers to any questions which remain after examining prospectuses and websites.

The Faculty will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.

All talks will take place in the English Faculty building, on the corner of St Cross and Manor Roads.

Staff and current students will be present throughout the day to answer questions about the course, studying at Oxford, and the application process. We welcome students interested in our joint schools (English and History; English and Classics; English and Modern Languages) at any of our talks.

Parents are welcome to attend the Open Days, but to avoid overcrowding we would ask that they do not attend the lectures and talks scheduled in the morning. However, there is often space available in the afternoon sessions. The University holds a range of events aimed at parents during the day; details are available on the main University website.
