Doctoral research: My thesis explores the relationship between socialism and beauty at the fin de siècle. I am interested in how and why socialist writers thought about the beautiful as a political category, and how and why they worked towards creating a distinctly socialist poetics and erotics of reading. It is generously funded by St John's College and the AHRC.
I also work with and contribute to the Paris Institute for Critical Thinking (a non-profit, public space for humanities education), and I write poems.
