My research focuses on Middle English romance from an intersectional feminist perspective. My current research project as a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow is ‘Intersectional Identities and Migration by Sea in Middle English Romance’. In this, I look at how fourteenth-century texts use the sea to explore concepts of identity and belonging, particularly from the perspective of an island nation separated from mainland Europe and the rest of the known world.
My first monograph, Constructions of Motherhood in Medieval Romance, is forthcoming from Boydell and Brewer.
