Thesis Title: Translating Emotions: Emotional Spaces in the Tristan tradition

Research Interests: Old Norse, Old and Middle English, Middle High German, History of Emotions, Romance, Medieval Translation, Affective Devotion, Tristan & Isolde
Doctoral Research: My doctoral research examines the translation of emotion, specifically love, in medieval Tristan texts. By comparing the Anglo-Norman verse Tristan with its Old Norse and Middle High German translations, I hope to present a reading of romantic love that is spatially experienced and spatially determined.
